Heather Heying is an American evolutionary biologist and author. She is known for her research and perspectives on human evolution, biology, and behavior. Heying received her Ph.D. in biology from the University of Michigan in 1998. She has held academic positions at various institutions, including Evergreen State College where she was a professor of evolutionary biology from 2001 to 2017. Along with her husband Bret Weinstein, Heying has been an outspoken critic of some progressive ideologies and their influence on academic and scientific discourse. Heying is the co-author, with Bret Weinstein, of the 2021 book "A Hunter-Gatherer's Guide to the 21st Century: Evolution and the Challenges of Modern Life."
