Ben Horowitz is an American businessman, technology entrepreneur, and author. He is best known as the co-founder and general partner of the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz. Horowitz co-founded Andreessen Horowitz in 2009 with Marc Andreessen. The firm has become one of the most successful and influential venture capital firms in Silicon Valley, investing in numerous tech startups and emerging companies. Horowitz and Andreessen have been credited with shaping the modern venture capital industry through their innovative approach to investing and supporting portfolio companies. Prior to co-founding Andreessen Horowitz, Horowitz co-founded the enterprise software company Opsware (formerly Loudcloud) in 1999, serving as the company's CEO until its acquisition by Hewlett-Packard in 2007 for $1.6 billion.
